Okay, so you are probably wondering what’s going on with our plants. Well, it came time to thin out the seedlings. I just couldn’t do it, I couldn’t kill any of them. So, off to the barn I went with all the babies. I ended up separating and transplanting ALL the seedlings. I doubled what I had originally planted. Man, if this works………..
I couldn’t be happier. We have a long way to go to that home made tomato sauce, basil pesto, butternut squash soup and hot peppers in my homemade salsa, but I think we are on our way.
So, I decided it was time to do some transplanting in the backyard to make room for my expanded family.
A New Very Big Project:
I spoke to my friend Tim from Weeping Willow Tree Service, he supplies me with fire wood for my wood burning stove. I needed soil and mulch, and just did not want to go the HD store. He turned me on to Prianti Farms Inc., a nursery in Deer Park. Andrew recommended Sweet Peet, the best soil for gardening. I ordered it Wednesday at 3PM and it arrived Thursday at 7AM, I was impressed.
So, I ordered 10 yards of Sweet Peet and 10 yards of cedar mulch. My new babies are going to have a great new home.
